AARON WRIGHT (trombone) was raised in Traverse City, Michigan. During his college years, he studied music at Michigan State University, earning a B.A. in Music Education in 2016 and later a master’s in Music Performance in 2018. While a student at MSU, he was a finalist in both 2015 and 2016 for the American Trombone Workshop Division II Solo Competition and performed in the finals of the International Trombone Workshop Quartet Competition in 2015. His seven-year stint at MSU was spent studying with past principal trombonist of the Grand Rapids Symphony, Ava Ordman. Presently, Wright is an active freelance musician in Michigan. He regularly substitutes in regional symphonies including Lansing, Saginaw Bay, Midland, and Grand Rapids Symphonies. He has recently experienced success while on the audition circuit, having advanced to the final round of two auditions for the U.S. Army Ceremonial Band in Arlington, Virginia. In addition to performing, Wright apprentices as a brass repair technician at Meridian Winds of Okemos, Michigan, and teaches a select number of private students in the Lansing area.
