ANNA HERRERA-CHIRINOS (cello) is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She is currently studying her master’s degree with Professor Dennis Parker at Louisiana State University, where she also received her bachelor’s degree. Before coming to the United States in 2015, she studied music at Mozarteum Music School and Lino Gallardo Music School in Caracas. In 2012, she played as a soloist with the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, performing Kol Nidrei by Max Bruch. Herrera-Chirinos has also been teaching cello both in Venezuela and in the United States. She currently works as a cello teacher at Kid’s Orchestra in Baton Rouge. She is also a member of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. In 2017, Anna was the recipient of the Baton Rouge Music Club Auxiliary Award, as well as the Philharmonic Club Scholarship. She has performed in masterclasses for cellists Phillip Muller, Raphael Wallfish, Lynn Harrell, Gary Hoffman, and Frans Helmerson. She has also performed in masterclasses for Arianna Quartet, Pacifica Quartet, Attaca Quartet, St. Lawrence Quartet, Cuarteto Latinoamerico, Cavani Quartet, and Shanghai Quartet.
