Derek Fenstermacher is a Buffet Group Performing Artist and is currently principal tubist with both the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Albany Symphony Orchestra. In addition he is on faculty at Bard College’s Conservatory of Music, and is Adjunct Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Montclair State University. Mr. Fenstermacher has performed with many orchestras across the United States, including the Cincinnati Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, and is a regular substitute with the New York Philharmonic. An avid chamber musician, Derek is honored to be joining the Sotto Voce Quartet for their 2016-2017 season, the premiere tuba and euphonium quartet, and will be touring with them across the United States. An acclaimed soloist, he will be soloing with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in April of 2017, and has won numerous competitions, including grand prize at the Leonard Falcone Artist Solo Tuba Competition in 2008.
