Hannah Threlkeld is pursuing her masters in orchestral conducting at Southern Methodist University where she is a student of Dr. Paul Phillips. Threlkeld is the assistant conductor of the Meadows Symphony Orchestra and the conductor for SYZYGY, a new music ensemble.
Threlkeld has collaborated with numerous artists in the Dallas metroplex, including the Meadows Opera Theater, the SMU Division of Dance, SMU student composers and SYZYGY. In April, she conducted SYZYGY in the world premiere of Jordan Kuspa’s ballet Masque of the Red Death in collaboration with the Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet.
In addition to being a conductor, Threlkeld is an active music educator and performer. She recently graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in music education and a minor in psychology. During her undergraduate career, she studied flute with Jean Larson Garver, former principal flute of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
