This camp caters to a young child's natural curiosity and desire to learn. EMFexplorers will have constant interaction with EMF faculty and students. Each day, campers will explore music through a variety of activities including instrument demonstrations, rehearsal visits, singing, and receiving an introduction to melody, harmony, and rhythm. The week culminates with attendance at an EMF orchestral performance. All children are welcome to register, and acceptance is not based on musical experience.

For students with High-Functioning Autism/Asperger's Syndrome
This exciting camp is designed for rising 1st-5th graders diagnosed with HFA/Asperger's Syndrome who function independently in a group setting and are interested in music. EMFdiscovery participants receive a top-notch introduction to classical music and the orchestra through hands-on learning. Experienced music and special needs resource teachers provide a kid-friendly and creative approach to music through instrument demonstrations, making and playing instruments, singing, and a unique introduction to melody, harmony, and rhythm.

With backstage access to professional musicians and exclusive performances, participants will gain hands-on experience in music recording and explore a variety of music genres, including fiddle/bluegrass, African drumming, improvisational, and classical music.
