Eastern Music Festival and Guilford College’s Bryan Series present Yo-Yo Ma, one of the most revered classical musicians of our time, Monday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at War Memorial Auditorium in Greensboro.

Mr. Ma will deliver a lecture about his peace advocacy work worldwide and the role of music in cultural preservation. He will also perform an unaccompanied musical selection. The program will be part of the 2009-10 Bryan Series and will be in addition to four subscription programs.

Mr. Ma’s visit will be a historic moment and milestone in the Triad’s cultural history. He appeared as a 23-year-old guest artist at Eastern Music Festival in 1978 and has gone on to perform all over the world—including a performance at the recent Presidential inauguration—and has won more than 15 Grammy Awards.
