Anna Herrera is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She holds a master’s degree from Louisiana State University, where she also got her bachelor’s degree under the studio of Dennis Parker. Before coming to the United States in 2015, Herrera studied music at Mozarteum Music School and Lino Gallardo Music School in Caracas. She currently works as a cello teacher and marketing manager at Palacios House of Arts, a nonprofit organization in Baton Rouge. She is a member of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and assistant principal cellist of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, Herrera attended Eastern Music Festival as a String Fellow for the first time. She has performed in masterclasses for cellists Phillip Muller, Raphael Wallfish, Lynn Harrell, Gary Hoffman, Frans Helmerson, Timothy Eddy, Uri Vardi, and Daniel Grosgurin. She has also performed in masterclasses for Arianna Quartet, Pacifica Quartet, Attaca Quartet, St. Lawrence Quartet, Cuarteto Latinoamerico, Cavani Quartet, and Shanghai Quartet.
