ANTHONY BOCK (piano) is an aspiring chamber musician, vocal coach, and collaborative pianist born in Medford, Oregon. Bock has competed and performed throughout the United States. In 2015, he was awarded first place in the Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) Sonatina Competition. He was an OMTA Bach Competition state finalist in 2012 and has participated in OMTA Classical and Baroque festivals in Oregon. He won the 2016-2020 Evans Family Scholarship at Southern Oregon University (SOU) and also won the 2016 and 2019 Brookings Friends of Music Scholarship. Bock participated in a Musical Teachers National Association competition in 2018, and placed 3rd at Catholic University of America’s International Piano Competition at the Kennedy Center in 2019. Additionally, Bock has performed in orchestras and choirs throughout the nation. Outside of music, Bock has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in Accounting and works as a graduate assistant in finance at The Clarice A. Smith Performing Arts Center. Bock is an avid performer throughout Oregon, Maryland, and at SOU, and has played with numerous jazz ensembles and professional big bands throughout the Pacific Northwest. Bock has recently earned his Bachelor of Music from SOU. During his time at SOU he studied under the instruction of Dr. Alexander Tutunov and Dr. Matt Goodrich. Bock is now studying for a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano under the instruction of Rita Sloan at the University of Maryland, estimated to be completed in May of 2023.
