CATHERINE COLE (percussion) is a classically trained percussionist and audio engineer and works to expand repertoire and resources for percussionists while advancing her skills as an accomplished ensemble performer. A versed orchestral musician, Cole spent the summer of 2017 at Eastern Music Festival, having been awarded the Percussion Fellowship and is a three=year alum of EMF’s student orchestra. She performed as a section percussionist with both the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Gulf Coast Orchestra for three seasons and frequently participates in seminars and conventions across the country. She has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) numerous times, most notably with the Eastman Percussion Ensemble in 2017 and the PAS All-Star International Percussion Ensemble in 2015. An advocate for new music, Cole actively seeks collaboration with composers who create new sound combinations for percussion. In 2018, Catherine completed a Master of Music degree in Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, graduating with an Arts Leadership Certificate. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Florida State University in 2016. Her primary teachers have included Michael Burritt, John Parks, Jim Ross, and Charles Ross.
