LAURA BLANKENSHIP (violin) is an active performer and teacher throughout North Carolina. She is principal second violin of the Salisbury Symphony and the North Carolina Chamber Orchestra, and she performs in the Fayetteville Symphony, Western Piedmont Symphony, and Carolina Philharmonic. She has also recorded string quartet arrangements by Lynne Latham and performed in pit orchestras for musical theatre productions. Laura holds degrees from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and the University of Wyoming where her teachers were Fabián López and John Fadial, respectively. At UW, she was selected to perform in solo and chamber master classes for renowned artists including Gerard Schwarz, Charles Castleman, the Ying Quartet, and the Danish Quartet. In addition to performing, she has been an assistant orchestra librarian at Eastern Music Festival since 2014.
