Ching-Hung Chen

CHING-HUNG CHEN (cello) is both a soloist and a chamber musician. He won the concerto and the chamber music competition at the National Taipei University of Education in 2014. The following year, he was invited to perform Paganini’s Variations on One String while on tour in Italy. During his undergraduate years, he attended to the Pro Arte CMT Orchestra, an elite ensemble gathered from different universities. In addition, Chen was a substitute member in the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra and South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. He was also invited to perform as a soloist for The Handel Festival Orchestra in 2017. Chen studied with Professor Marion Feldman and Patrick Jee in the Graduate Strings Studies Program at NYU. He is currently a doctoral candidate at UConn under the guidance of cellist Sophie Shao.
