CHRIS WILLIAMS has been the Executive Director of Eastern Music Festival for nine years, where he is responsible for planning, administering, and evaluating the internationally acclaimed multi-week summer classical music festival and training program for aspiring young musicians. Before arriving in Greensboro in 2014, Chris previously served as Executive Director at the Garth Newel Music Center in Hot Springs, Virginia, as Director of Cultural Heritage Programs at Arlington Cultural Affairs, in Arlington, Virginia, and as Folklorist/Director of Programs at the National Council for the Traditional Arts, in Silver Spring, Maryland. With his Masters in American Civilization (Folklore) from George Washington University and an undergraduate in Music Education from the University of Georgia, Chris brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience and scholarship in arts administration, musicology, humanities, and cultural traditions.
