A majority of employees in a “bargaining unit” employed by Eastern Music Festival, Inc. have voted to recognize a labor union, specifically Local 342 of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), as their representative with respect to their employment by EMF. While the EMF Board of Directors did oppose the union’s bid to unionize EMF, the members of the bargaining unit have spoken and we support their right to organize for purposes of collective bargaining and representation. EMF looks forward to working amicably with Local 342’s representatives to negotiate a fair and beneficial collective bargaining agreement that will help support and sustain the Festival and its mission into the future.

EMF will bargain in good faith with Local 342 with respect to terms and conditions of employment of all members of the bargaining unit. We will do so with the best interests of Eastern Music Festival ever present in our minds.
