JEFFREY KAYE is artistic director, principal trumpeter, and featured soloist for the Symphonia of Boca Raton. He performs with many South Florida ensembles, including the Miami City Ballet, Palm Beach Opera, and the Festival Orchestra Boca. He is a core member of Michael Stern’s Iris Orchestra in Germantown, Tennessee. Kaye also leads the highly acclaimed Florida Brass and Jeff Kaye & Friends Jazz Quintet. He is on faculty at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He has also served on faculty at Louisiana State University. Prior to Kaye’s appointment at LSU, he spent two years as artist-in-residence at UNLV. Kaye served as trumpet professor at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, where he received the Teacher of the Year Award. He also was the coach for the New World Brass Ensemble. Kaye has been on EMF’s faculty since 2009. He received both a Bachelor of Arts in performance and a Bachelor of Science in music management from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. He was then awarded a talent scholarship by the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he earned a master’s degree in music performance.
