EMF’s Beginnings

From those humble beginnings to the thriving festival and training program that it is today, Eastern Music Festival has marked many milestones along the way.

1961 – Founder Sheldon Morgenstern shares his vision of establishing a classical music camp at Guilford College. The “new” Dana Auditorium is the proposed home venue.
