Trevor Wilson is a conductor, composer, and violinist born in Ottawa, Canada. Before beginning his formal studies in conducting, Wilson performed as a guest conductor with several local orchestras and became the founding Music Director of the Ottawa Pops Orchestra in Fall 2017. In recent year, he has participated in several international conducting festivals and workshops, studying under such renowned pedagogues as Mark Shapiro, David Effron, and Neil Varon. These experiences led him to Budapest where, in 2018, he performed with the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok as a participant of the Dohnányi Conducting Academy. Most recently, in summer 2019, Wilson worked as the Assistant Conductor of the National Academy Orchestra of Canada under Maestro Boris Brott and, this past spring, completed his master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting studies in Orchestral Conducting at the Peabody Conservatory under Marin Alsop. Wilson completed his Master of Master of Music in Violin Performance at the University of Ottawa, studying with Yehonatan Berick and Yosuke Kawasaki, as well as his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, also at the University of Ottawa, in 2017.
