Celebrating 61 Years of Musical Excellence

Pianist Yihan Sun has a passion to collaborate with other musicians and participated in ensemble performances as well as accompanying voice and instrumental studios at East Tennessee State University, Ohio University, Peabody Conservatory, and University of Maryland. Through the years, Sun has won several piano competitions, including the 4th Kawai Asia Piano Competition, the 4th Shenzhen Piano Open Competition, and MTNA Piano Competition. She also has played in solo and chamber masterclasses with many distinguished musicians, including Leon Fleisher, Kim-Woo Paik, Seymour Bernstein, Duo Ingolfsson-Stoupel, and members of the Ying String Quartet. Sun currently lives in Baltimore and is a doctoral candidate in collaborative piano, studying with Rita Sloan at University of Maryland. Besides playing piano, Sun finds great joy in drawing and collaborating painting with new music. In the coming summer, she will be collaborating with composers and colleagues and launching the series, ‘Red.’
