YU-HSUAN FENG (piano),a native of Taipei, embarked on her piano journey at the age of four. Her career as a young pianist gained recognition when she claimed first prize at the International Asian Music Elite Competition. As a soloist, Yu-Hsuan has gained extensive experience performing piano concerti, including works of Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Poulenc. Beyond her solo performances, she has collaborated with instrumentalists and vocalists and served as the collaborative pianist for several choirs.
After being admitted to the Gifted Music Program in Piano Performance at Fuxing High School, she made her recital debut at age 15. Upon graduation as the top-ranked music student, she continued her training by pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at National Taiwan Normal University. During her time there, she received Russian piano school training under the guidance of renowned pianist Andrei Yeh, a pupil of the legendary Russian pianist Lev Naumov. A multi-faceted musician, Ms. Feng also studied violin and harp. She was the associate concertmaster of the FHSH Orchestra and later, the principal harpist of the NTNU Wind Orchestra. In 2023, she graduated with honors, securing the highest score in piano and earning the Academic Excellence Award. She has also played in master classes, including Mei-Hsuan Huang, Christopher Zhong, Pei-Chun Liao, Yi-Chih Lu, Rafael Figueroa, and Kun-Woo Paik.
Her former teachers include Eric Chen, Edna Yuan-Yuan Chia, Xing-Hui Chen, and Shannon Shuen Chieh. This year, she has been awarded the National Society of Arts and Letters Scholarship.
Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Music degree as a full scholarship recipient at the Lynn Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Florida, under the mentorship of Lisa Leonard.
