Violist Zoe Loversky was born in Sacramento, CA, and raised in Washington, DC. She began playing violin at an early age but began to seriously study after switching to the viola in her mid-teens. She studied with George Ohlson at the Washington Conservatory, where she developed a warm and beautiful tone. She is an alumna of Carnegie Mellon and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Rice University, Shepherd School of Music. Next year, she is headed to Boston to pursue her DMA. Loversky was on the Dean’s list for academics and has been nominated for several merit scholarships. Her most recent summer festivals include Madeline Island, Bowdoin, Aspen Colorado College, and Banff. She enjoys teaching and aims at developing a life-long love of music in her students. She has over 15 years of experience playing in orchestras and hopes to continue playing in an orchestral setting for many years to come. Loversky currently resides in Houston, Texas, where she enjoys taking long walks around the city, eating the local BBQ, and listening to live (currently outdoor) music.
